Dr. Kamran Kowsari

Kamran Kowsari serves as a Data Scientist at the Office of Health Informatics and Analytics (OHIA) within the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Virginia's School of Engineering and Applied Science under the guidance of Professor Laura E. Barnes and Donald E. Brown. Prior to his Ph.D., he completed his Master of Science at The George Washington University in 2014, with Professor Simon Berkovich as his advisor. During his master's, he initiated a significant research endeavor utilizing Golay Code technique for clustering within large datasets.

His professional background encompasses a multitude of projects, both within academia and beyond. His research interests span various domains, including medical informatics, mobile health, machine learning, mathematical modeling, algorithms, data structures, biomedical computing, and visualization.
